Can you shoot a 22 long out of a 22 short revolve If you file down the bullet a little. Will it be to much pressure for the gun to handle. The bullet is flush with the front of the cylinder when it's filed down.Didn't know if the bullet was to close to the beginning of the barrel or not. It's a Gecado revolver made in Germany.

Answer Question
Shoot only the ammunition for which your firearm is rated!
PERIOD!
Firearms are designed for a certain type of ammo. Using the wrong ammo can result in damage to the gun, the shooter and bystanders. This goes for all guns of any type. If its made to shoot different .22 ammo like shorts, longs and long rifle then that’s what it can use. If it says .22 short then that’s what its made for.
Goofing around with ammo has blinded, maimed and killed people. Yet despite the warnings people still goof around with such and get hurt.
Changing the blade on a running lawn mower is a bad idea also.
It was outlawed completely because there were some "accidents" not surprisingly.
answer: Wolfpac Leader (Y!A7) time: 2010-11-01 07:59:56Given that it is a Gecado revolver, I wouldn't even fire .22 shorts out of it.
answer: Gray Wanderer time: 2010-10-30 20:59:53I actually did just that, when I was young and ignorant. Now that I'm old and wise, I wouldn't do it again.
