i love monday night football

i live in sydney and the nrl has had monday night games for the last few years all season long

i love night games and would love the GF to be on sat night but it will never happen if the afl cant step into the 20th century and play on Good Friday

The reason is that kids have to get up the next day and will put them out of sleep schedule for the rest of the week

I don't like the Sunday twilight at all. It's never on TV so what's the point of it? If they put it on Monday night they could finally get a 2nd live game on free TV which would bring good audiences. It's 2010, TV has been around for 60 odd years, why the hell do they only play 1 live game per week? Friday, Saturday & Monday night, live games. Saturday & Sunday arvo delayed, as much as I hate delayed footy, gotta be sacrifices somewhere, best be later in the afternoon so people can get more of their days done before the footy comes on.

Yeah yeah I know Foxtel has live games, but for the argument purposes I'm ignoring that. Not everyone has it.

Sunday twilight games would be great...I know the NRL play games on Monday nights on a regular basis and it seems to pay off for them it just doesn't work for Aussie Rules games...I asked hubby why it didn't work and he said "we're just not used to it" and I think he's right (lol he is sometimes right)...I'm pretty sure if the AFL scheduled games for the Monday nights people would still turn up to watch though the crowds would most likely not be as good as weekend games.

For us Monday night games wouldn't work...hubby gets up at 5.30am each morning to head off into the City to work and gets home at 7.00pm...he bolts down his dinner and is asleep a little after 8.00pm...we don't get to many games at all...hubby and I went to Carlton vs Essendon earlier this season...oh and our daughter works Monday, Thursday, Friday (nights in the Deli) and Saturday mornings she works 8.00am till 1.00pm so Saturday is out for us as well.

Twilight games are a good idea and i think would work. Although with a low attendance due to kids getting ready for monday school, family night, last day of weekend to settle/veg out before working week etc etc.
Mon to thurs I think wouldn't work to well..the attendance would be so low would it really be worth putting on.Most peeps would rather watch on free to air telly.
