Answer Question

it's not over.

now... instead of having only 14 players signed taking up 57.7M, you have 13 players signed at 53.4M. (not to mention, the blackhawks just lost a lot of grit and size).

still need to sign 7 players to fill out the bench. and that's w/ no healthy scratches. w/ only 6M in cap space. buckle up, it oughta be a phun ride.

it's just a matter of time before Campbell goes.

you guys gotta remember that just because Chicago WANTS to trade (i.e. Huet or Hossa), these contracts are VERY risky for other teams to pick up. only a handful have the room to spend... not just for one year, but in Hossa's case... for many years to come.) it's all about the player's "tradability". their "stock" value. it's not as simple as MERELY putting names like Huet and Hossa as trade bait. other teams have to be willing to take them. easier said than done.

Yes. but the hawks need the cap space and he was one that just had to go. I figured it would have been better to trade versteeg who has good hands but makes very bad descisions. Still versteeg still has the stats to get a good player in return but byflein is being payed more..... Don;t you think they should trade huet!?!??! He is being payed an awful lot of money ( 5 mil) to waste sitting on the bench.

I thought Versteeg was expendable considering how Byfuglien performed in the playoffs - especially the Final.

My guess is they figure they won't need him now that the Flyers are gonna go on another 10-year vacation from the Final.....

Yes, and now they have announced they committed to keeping Sharp. So disappointing.
