If you're talking about sculling singles... Those are really nice too. Fast, responsive, sit high in the water so require good balance but you can work your way towards that. I like 'em!

well anyway if you are they are amazing! if you're looking at surfskis then i don't know as i haven't paddled them, eg the mohawk

however the flatwater racer: epic legacy, is amazing! it is incredibly stable for what i would class as a skinny boat, about a 2 or a three (out of ten), but speed is not sacrificed. Climbing washes requires a little more than your average skinny boat (eg nelo/vajda) but riding them is much easier, it is also very stable in the wash. If you are interested in the more technical points it creates it's own wash to ride upon effectively due to the depth of the stern (if JUST falls into racing rules and is valid)

they are also generally cheaper and the quality is extremely high

My advice would be to buy it over any other if you're looking for longer distance racing, eg: 5km plus. It does perform extremely well at sprint level too and is used by many top paddlers and even world champions

if you make the right decision to opt for one then make sure you get the normal under-stern rudder and not the one right at the back (you'll know it when you see it, it looks very cool and is more responsive however this is outweighed by the fact that a lot of weeds etc get caught, definitely get a normal rudder.

if you want a new set of wings i'd recommend epic also: i'm yet to use a pair i prefer than the medium sized epics, and that includes the likes of brascha
