They are a great little bike with tons of power, while still being easier to ride and race. You are too short for any of the bigger bikes like the yz125 of a 250f'. So have a look at the crf150r and you can jump whatever you want. Get the suspension done to suit your weight especially if jumping and/or racing as it makes a huge difference to the handling of the bike and also makes landing a jump a lot more pleasant experience. Steer clear of 2 strokes unless you have tons of experience
answer: auburn time: 2010-10-29 03:32:20It depends on your heighth i would choose a honda crf 100f or a crf 150f those are only if you just want to ride and jump. there are 2 bikes there is a 2stroke which are for racing. then a 4 stroke just for what ever
answer: Shelden time: 2010-10-27 17:32:01DON'T get a 2 stroke GET a 4 stroke 2 stroke the engines wear out quicker then anything i would recommend a TTR250cc or KX250F! Go 250 because when you get more confident you will find it to slow!! (from experience!!)
Hope this helps!

A KX250F may feel like a hanful for you at your age and height. It's tall. When I was 16, I was 5'6" and my RM-125 was tough to touch ground on. I grew 2 more inches in the years following, and in soft sand or mud, my present RMZ250 is tough to keep upright if I am stopped. Once on the move, no problem.
If you are of thin to athletic build for your height, why not check out an 85cc 2 stroke motocross bike? I think they come in normal and tall configuration. These 85cc bikes (and Honda's CRF150) can all do very big jumps. They are a smaller version of the big motocross bikes. For your age and height they really are the right size. Don't worry about Horsepower, because they are also much lighter than the full sized bikes. A good young rider on an 85 should be able to stay with a full sized and weighted adult rider on a 125cc 2stroke or 250cc4stroke.
Honda makes a CRF150 (4 stroke) that is equavalent to an 85cc 2 stroke (if a 2 stroke is the issue).
Also, the racing 4 strokes run incredible hot, and when they do need maintenance, the cost will far exceed the cost of 2 stroke maintenance. I spend more on the RMZ (250) than I ever did on my RM 's (rm250 and rm125)
