Answer Question
The WBA is a joke, along with the other boxing organizations. The IBF sided with a steroid user, Frans Botha, and let him continue being champion. They even went to court against Axel Schulz, who was suing due to Botha's steroid use during their fight, to preserve Botha's championship status.

You're confused about the belts and so is everyone else. The WBA has "super" and "regular" champions and WBC has "diamond" and "silver" belts. Nobody knows who the real champion is anymore. Although Mayweather did it to avoid paying the 3% sanctioning body fee. Since he's at the end of his career he thinks he can still land fights without a title. He would've gone for the belt if he was younger.

answer: D time: 2010-10-23 10:22:59i have no idea anymore because there are too many belts. How can anybody be the Welterweight champion or the Middleweight champion or the heavyweight champion if there are so many different champions. How can you be King of the mountain if there are so many mountains. It's like the pound for Pound rankings you can't have 2 or 3 or 4 pound for pound kings, there can only be one so they should only have 1 belt per weight class so everyone can know who's the true champion.
Mayweather refused to take the WBA belt because he didn't want to pay 3%. It's not much but it's kind of pointless for a belt that doesn't mean anything. Belts don't mean anything these days I mean really, if you think they do then just think. If the fight was for the belt then Mayweather would have that belt. Either way he still loss and that's what matters. Belts don't mean anything, it's all about winning. Sure it's great to be champion but it's nothing especially when no one knows who the real champion is
