Willie busted getting pedicure?
THERE'S a young lady in Port Macquarie who deserves special praise today after facing up to Willie Mason's size 14 feet and living to tell the tale.
The giant turned even more heads than usual during last week's Country camp, when he strode into Country Nails - a local beauty salon that specialises in pedicures - with teammates Greg Bird and Todd Carney.
According to the salon's owner John Ha, Mason removed his shoes, kicked back among the startled female clientele and enjoyed a $45 pedicure.
"I was not there, but everyone is talking to me about this Willie Mason coming into our shop and getting a pedicure," Ha told us. "The girl who did the pedicure - her name is Van - she didn't know he was a famous footballer until everyone started ringing.
"We don't get too many males come in at the best of time."
Before speaking to Ha, we tracked down Van - the young beauty therapist who had the rare honour of getting up-close and personal with Mason's cuticles.
Alas, she could not speak fluent English - leaving the door ajar for Mason to hose down the story.
"Nah mate, it wasn't a pedicure ... it was a foot massage," he laughed.
"I did go into that shop because me, Todd Carney and Greg Bird were really bored one day," he said. "We were just walking round and around and I saw the shop and thought I'd get a foot massage.
"Birdy actually took a photo, which I'm pretty filthy about and now they're stitching me up about a pedicure!"
We tried to speak with Bird and Carney but they were intent on protecting Mason's honour.
Another witness, however, was adamant the treatment was a pedicure.
