Would an IAC lever action 12g with 28 inch barrel make a good all round hunting gun?
Hi there!
I'm entertaining the thought of purchasing an IAC lever action 12g shotgun with the longer 28 inch barrel.
It would be used for hunting only.
The reason I'm looking at this gun is that i'm wanting a shotgun that is versatile, reasonably cheap to buy and has the capability for quick follow-up shots.
Where I come from (Victoria, Australia) there are laws against the use of semi auto and pump action shotguns but for some reason lever actions are still allowed, weird laws I know.
Anyway, I cant seem to find much information on these particular weapons and their performance in the field so if anybody could enlighten me it would be much appreciated.
My primary targets would be Goats, Rabbits, Foxes, feral pigs and the occasional duck.
Would his gun effectively handle sabot loads or buckshot for pigs? Would the effective kill range be the same distance as say a Hatsan Escort over and under?
I am aware that the IAC ever is no Beretta but i'm more concerned with an inexpensive alternative to a pump action that can humanely take down a wide selection of game, handle small and large loads and not fail me in tough conditions.
Kind regards
Rory
